STUDIO
Archived photos and my sketchbooks are the vital source of inspiration for my paintings, whilst historical record of locations remains the most sought after goal. Designing with colour, textural technique, and oil washes, is a continual but enjoyable task that continues to excite.

"KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON"
I donated this Oil painting to the Train of Hope charity, who ran a rail tour from Crewe, travelling over the Settle Carlisle line. Many notable contributers donated gifts and time to support CLIC Sargent Cancer Charity for Children

The painting depicts evacuation of children to Wales. The station is Crewe, the 3 CYL Compound is 1041 from Leicester shed. The year is 1940.
"ONE EYE ON THE BALL-ONE EYE ON THE TRAINS"
This is my attempt to relive days spent playing football and also keeping close to the trains. Jubilee 45636 Uganda thunders down the incline towards Luton Station.
The 24" x 22" painting is linen bonded to board and has provided me with yet another great surface to experiment with.

About
I never undertook formal art training but spent 25 years as a car-body designer and model-maker. The experience aids me in the precision required for my railway paintings. I am a full member of The Guild Of Railway Artists and have have exhibited at the National Railway Museum York, and Kidderminster Railway Museum.
