PAINTINGS

In the Galleries you will find a selection of my Paintings in OIL WATERCOLOUR and PASTEL

STUDIO

Archived photos and my sketchbooks are the vital source of inspiration for my paintings, whilst historical record of locations remains the most sought after goal. Designing with colour, textural technique, and oil washes, is a continual but enjoyable task that continues to excite.

Studio News

Since my move to Cornwall in the spring of 2008, the 50's bungalow has meant masses of maintenance but thankfully that has progressed well. My new studio is now a busy place with prepared canvases and plenty of boards propped against walls.

This early stage canvas depicts 9F and 3F on Holbeck Yard and is recently commissioned by my client who purchased the large St Pancras canvas.

I have recently completed a commissioned canvas of Royal Scot "the Welch Regiment" ready to depart from Leeds Holbeck yard.

If pressed to confess my favourite subject then it would have to be the ash strewn yards that I knew so well. As I paint I am able to conjour up the atmosphere with its smell, debris, and ash. For a while I relive what was home to our powerful locomotives.
